There are 3 Locations in Orlando of the Boston Lobster feast. The original is on Sand Lake Road, which opened in 1991, there is one of International Drove and the third one is in Kissimmee. You may see a VW Beetle driving around town with a huge lobster on top, this belongs to the chain.
We are regular visitors to this restaurant and have in the past whilst holidaying in Miami driven up especially to eat there!!!
The restaurant itself is like the inside of a Boston fish market. There is a huge lobster hanging over the buffet. The cost of the buffet is $29.99 after 7 pm; they have an early bird special for $26.99 from 4pm til 7pm. The restaurant stops serving at 10 pm. It is hugely popular with tourist and locals alike. You normally do not have to wait too long for a table. It has a separate bar area where you can have a cocktail or beer whilst waiting. There are booths and tables so they can cater for 1 to much bigger parties. Its capacity is 200. Great introduction to seafood for kids and adults alike. There is also a child’s price for the buffet $14.99 I believe.
They sit you at a table with lots of napkins, empty bowls, seafood (nut) crackers and picks and you just get torn in. If you do not know how to “dissect” the lobster the waiter will show you how. Hubby showed one young couple how to do it after they were trying to cut the lobster with a knife and fork! He was worried they were going to end up in the Emergency Room!
The menu is a sea lover’s delight:
Soups include New England & Manhattan clam chowder, lobster bisque, crab salad, Caesar salad, house salad, tuna salad, summer salad, and coleslaw.
Raw Bar includes oysters & clams on the half shell, peel & eat shrimp, smoked Norwegian salmon with cream cheese, green lip mussels, crawfish, blue crab, stone crab Claws, Sushi: tuna, salmon & California roll.
Hot appetizers include Oysters, Rockefeller, New England steamed clams, fried clams, crab cakes, fried cod and hushpuppies.
Main Course include the piece de resistance the whole boiled lobster, snow crab legs, fried shrimp, baked cod, garlic crab, mussels, salmon with dill sauce, seafood alfredo, BBQ chicken, fried scallops, London broil (medium/rare cooked beef), cheese tortellini.
Side dishes include corn on the cob, sautéed mushrooms, red skinned potatoes, seasoned rice, mashed potatoes, gravy, steamed vegetables, melted butter, cocktail & tartar sauces, fresh lemon wedge, assorted breads.
Desserts include New York cheesecake, chocolate fudge cake (which I can personally recommend), carrot cake, chocolate pecan pie, chocolate chip cookies, grapes and strawberries for the health conscious!!!!
(Kids are catered for too if they do not want to feast on the seafood with hamburgers, chicken fingers and spaghetti).
Do not eat too much before a visit to the Boston Lobster Feast! When we asked the waiter what the record was for how many lobsters eaten, he told us 68 in one sitting! I have managed 4 and hubby 7. I tend to eat lots of things, hubby concentrates on the lobster! My favorites are the lobster, snow crab legs, (some as long as my arm) and the seafood pasta and sauce. The London broil and BBQ chicken are so tender.
