Shamrock Pub and Grille - Orlando / Florida Guide
Florida Guide > Dining
We sometimes call into the Shamrock Pub and Grille on our way home from shopping at Possner Park. It is situated in Davenport not far for the junction with the I4 so is not far from Kissimmee. It is open Monday to Thursday and Sunday 11. 00am to 12. 00am and Fridays and Saturday 11. 00am to 2. 00am.
Here you will also find a beer garden with a live stage where they have live entertainment including top bands daily. Although I have never seen it I believe their “Elvis is in the House” every Tuesday night is very popular with their customers.
In addition for sports fans there are 26 televisions showing anything from American baseball to soccer.
The Shamrock intends starting to host a community Flea Market on the last Saturday of each month.
Last time my brother, his friend and I went we had been to Possner Park and had not stopped for anything to eat all day and so when we arrived at the Shamrock we were starving. Before leaving the UK I had signed up for the Shamrocks newsletter and been emailed a voucher for a 10% discount off our meal.
My brother started with a portion of ten jumbo wings, which came with a choice of hot, medium, mild, garlic, Teriyaki, Thai chilli or BBQ sauce. He opted for the hot sauce.
I chose the Chicken Quesadilla which was delicious. It was a tortilla shell with grilled chicken, peppers, onions and jalapenos and cheese along with sour cream, guacamole and salsa.
His friend opted for the Shamrock Nachos. This also came with sour cream, guacamole and salsa and was huge. They were smothered in chilli, jalapenos, tomatoes, olives and cheese.
These we washed down with cold beers and then settled back to watch the soccer. Relaxed and happy at half time in the match we decided we would orders some main courses.
By now I was not as hungry as the boys so I ordered a Sirloin Sandwich that came with steak fries. I ordered this cooked medium and I must say it really was the strips of sirloin being cooked in garlic butter with peppers, onions and a Cajun sauce over them.
The Shamrock has a great selection if you want Pie and Chips. You can choose for Steak and Guinness, Steak and Kidney, Chicken and Mushroom, Chicken Curry Madras, Cheese and Onion or Cornish Pasty. One of the boys had the Chicken Curry Madras whilst the other chose the Steak and Guinness, both came with a mountain of chips.
We could not leave without desserts so we shared White Chocolate Bread Pudding and a Shamrock Sundae before we headed for home tired but happy.
