Florida Guide > Disney Parks
Out of all the parks in the Orlando Area, Epcot has to be the one that seems to be a favorite for all the Family. We have to say that we must visit the park at least twice every Florida holiday.
When arriving there is no mistaking the large Golf Ball shaped Sphere of Epcot. This in its self is the first ride called Spaceship Earth, a journey through time and communication in a fascinating adventure with lots to see.
Epcot is an extremely well design park with plenty of space, eventually leading to the famous World Showcase Lagoon, a large area of water surrounded by countries of the world, where you can explore, learn, participate, purchase gifts and dine out.
There are many places to visit in Epcot, like The Living Sea’s where you can see fascinating marine life, interact and learn all about our life beneath the sea.
Land is another such place where you can educate yourself. Interesting film shows and boat trips like Living with the Land, all narrated and stared in by Disney Characters. You will also find one of Disney’s newest rides, SOARIN, A hand gliding experience you will never forget.
While heading for Space Mission why not stop off at Test Track, a great ride for the speed junky. Strap yourself in as you go testing cars through extreme heat and cold before coming across bumpy terrain and just missing an on coming wagon. After all these tests you finally get to the test track where you will fly around the course at speeds of 60mph, before finally coming to a halt and thinking, that was brilliant lets have another go.
Space Mission is an out of this world interactive adventure. Pick you’re training and blast off, but watch out as you have to dodge meteors, as you glide around stars and navigate through space. Simply an awesome interactive ride.
There is much more to Epcot and a lot of this can be found around the World Showcase Lagoon. There are I believe Eleven countries to be found, Canada, England, France, Morocco, Japan, America, Italy, Germany, China, Norway and finally Mexico.
Each country has plenty of things to keep you entertained, all have their own unique national stile like Restaurants, our particular favorites are at Japan where you can enjoy a fabulous Teppanyaki. Amazing food cooked by fantastic chefs in front of you while your seated at your table. And of course the Rose & Crown at England where you can enjoy a good old Pint and Traditional English Food, our Kids favorite has to be the Sausage and Mash with Gravy. YUM YUM.
There is so much more to explore in each country, so make sure you don’t miss a thing. Kids have their own little task to do. At each country the kids can colour in and collect items of work they have carried out. And to show they have completed they will receive a stamp, which will be marked on their work saying they have carried out their task in that particular country.
Epcot is a fabulous place to collect the Disney Character autographs. Although there are certain times they appear throughout the day, if you are lucky enough you may spot one or two in and around a particular country. Morocco is a good place to spot Aladdin & Princess Jasmin and watch out for Jafar.
Finally after a long day, Epcot hosts each evening a spectacular firework display called Reflections of Earth, a 15 min extravaganza of Laser, lights, fire and Fireworks. A definite not to be missed show that will cap of an awesome day out at Epcot.
