Fulton’s Crab House – A Most Appetizing Showboat

If you love seafood and are looking for either a romantic dinner for two or a family meal, Fulton’s Crab House in Downtown Disney truly fits the bill. One of our favorite restaurants in the Disney area, Fulton’s boasts some of the best seafood in Orlando.

When you are in Downtown Disney, park in the “Marketplace” area. Parking areas C, D and E will get you closest the Fulton’s. You can’t miss this restaurant. It is a beautiful showboat that sits royally on the water with authentic deck bridges leading to the lobby. Park strollers outside, or if your child is sleeping in a stroller, Fulton’s staff has always been most accommodating in allowing the stroller to be brought to your table so you don’t have to wake your child.

If it’s a nice day or evening, be sure to request seating outside on one of Fulton’s many scenic decks. Our favorite is the lower deck, where you will be closest to the lake water, and visited by local ducks. You will also be close to the many ferryboats that meander by. (Please don’t feed the ducks! A whole flock may visit you as quacking spreads…but most importantly, it’s not good for them.) All decks have a wonderful view of the lake, or the many sights of Downtown Disney’s Marketplace.

Indoor ambience is true to the showboat style. Dark woods and seafaring accessories make you feel like you are dining on a real Mississippi showboat.

Service at this restaurant has always been excellent. We have always been greeted with sincere interest to our place of origin, and lots of pleasant conversation. Fulton’s diligent seafood policy will be explained in detail, as well as the recommended specials such as stone crab legs, which are in season November through March.

Fulton’s famous remoulade dip will be brought to your table with thin, crisp crackers to enjoy with drinks. You are even provided with the dip recipe to take home! Appetizers include cold seafood dishes, escargot, shrimp & crab. Or try a bowl of their creamy lobster bisque, but a warning to you! It is really filling, so you may want to share the soup or opt for a lighter appetizer. Salads are a la carte, and we recommend the classic Caesar.

Entrée choices are abundant. They are famous for their lobster, Alaskan crab legs and fresh fish, but meat lovers will revel in the surf and turf featuring mouth-watering filet. Pasta lovers will enjoy the scallop and pasta dish, featuring a wonderful garlic sauce, pasta and crisp vegetables.

Don’t forget dessert. Fulton’s may seem a bit pricey but you will find that the combination of its fresh seafood, scenic location and great service is more than worth it.
